The Blenheim Trio bring home their acclaimed 'Love Songs' show.
Bass player Pat Bleakely and Louise Perzigian on banjo, join local NZ Music Awards nominee songwriter Warren Love weaving a fine acoustic tapestry around beautiful songs and the stories behind them.
The NZ Listener said, "What is impressive is the local material measures up proudly against that of the big names (in the folk genre)."
Radio NZ added, "The vocals are magic - there's a warmth and intimacy that make me feel I'm being told a story and makes me want to hear more."
Bass player Bleakley is a veteran of Blerta and his work with drummer and actor the late Bruno Lawrence , has had national exposure in the Mammals in the 80's and lately with the free jazz Jonathan Crayford Trio.
Newcomer Perzigian adds subtle spice rather than the all-out train ride the banjo is most noted for.
Love's songs and his storytelling are amusingly honest speaking to the heart of the male experience.
You will come away surprised and delighted by a subtle and intriguing mixture of originality and fun.
